Can I park my car on the road without MOT?

Yes, parking without MOT is allowed but it does mean that you are relieved from the legal requirement to have a valid MOT certificate. MOT stands for Ministry of Transport test and is an annual inspection of your vehicle’s safety, whether it is safe if, your vehicle is on the public road. If your vehicle’s MOT has expired, you should not drive it on public roads until it passes the inspection. There are chances that some areas can restrict you from long-term parking if you don’t have a MOT.

What to do when someone hits your parked car UK?

STEP 1: We would suggest that you should report the Incident as soon as possible and contact the police by dialing (101) and provide them with all the necessary details. Also, the official report is crucial for claiming insurance.

STEP 2: While you wait for authorities you should take photos of the accident. If possible, note the license plate of the other vehicle, and collect the statements of the witness. These documents are vital for claiming insurance.

How to park a car?

Can you get away with not paying a private parking ticket?

How to use a pay and display car park?

Using a pay-and-display car park is not that difficult. Here are some steps on how you can use pay and display car park:

Ă Firstly, you need to find an available parking spot in a car park which has the facility of pay and display.

Ă Now, look for the payment point. Usually, the payment point would be a machine or kiosk where you will be able to pay for your parking.

Ă After that, either use a card for payment or you can make an online transaction through your phone to pay for the desired parking duration.

To avoid fines, make sure that you pay for the correct amount of time.

Ă  After you make the payment, the machine will issue a ticket. This ticket will display when the time of your parking will expire.

Can the public access ANPR data?

No one can access the ANPR data as the company is bound by the rules and regulations of GDPR. If the company allows anyone to access the data, then it will be a threat to the integrity and confidentiality of the parking management system.

What happens if you get caught by an ANPR camera?

It depends on whether the vehicle breached some parking or traffic rules and regulations. If the vehicle caught was involved in activities like unauthorized parking or the vehicle overstayed at a carpark, then the ANPR may issue a parking charge notice (PCN) against that particular vehicle.

What triggers an ANPR camera?

ANPR cameras are the cameras that get triggered by the vehicles as soon as the vehicles get in the vision of ANPR cameras. The ANPR cameras can be activated when a vehicle enters or exits a particular area where ANPR cameras are mounted to monitor the entry and exit points. They read the number plates of a vehicle to extract the data of that particular vehicle.
